Yao will be performing NYE in the SFC alongside our good friends Disco Shawn and Oro11 of Bersa Discos, it should prove to be a wonderful evening full of lost memories and new found hope!!
BTW
Bookworms has a great new track on his myspace page "African Rhythms".
Roche has two new beats up on his myspace page.
Since 2003. Curiously forward music through hand-to-hand combat and spontaneous media.

No Summer Or Winter
About a year ago Roche was introduced to Agnes Szelag via CB Radio. She gave him a CD. After first listen of her EP "No Summer Or Winter" he was inspired to remix the songs. The end result being "No Summer Or Winter (Roche Remixes)"
Here is a link to one of the remixes.
And the tracklist..
1. Lato Intro
2. Inside and Out of This World
3. Man-Made laws made man lost
4. Lato Outro
Roche will be making a few cd-r's with all 4 tracks. More info later....

Yao Attends The Tables
What's Yao been up to? This past Saturday he played a rambunctious set at Anu in San Francisco. Sharing the decks with Refusenik (a connection made via the Argentina homies). Apperently he has been working on some tracks too, we look forward to hearing those.

Roche & Bookworms play music in a cave
Roche & Bookworms play music in a cave, this footage was recently found and is probably from the pre historic neanderthal days.
UPDATE: Many may perhaps see the Barack Obama pins (at the video's end) as a reflection of the political leanings of Roche and Bookworms, but these items and their placement in the video are merely a representation of pics of the event and the night's partygoers and in no way reflect the opinions of Roche and Bookworms or Solos Records.
It should be also stated that Yao and Enso do openly support Barack Obama and his presidential run.

A Night With Yao
Yao played Beat House Rock at Club 6 in San Francisco. It was a fun night. Mr. Dibiase was the headliner but we had to cut out earlier to catch the last Tormenta Tropical at 222 hyde. It was a blast. It's too bad that little spot had to close, we had some great shows there.

Solos In Stereo II SF Release Party
SOLOS IN STEREO II SAN FRANCISCO RELEASE PARTY LI PO LOUNGE SATURDAY AUG 30TH
High Time was the opening dj. Pure gems.
Bookworms played a live set, it was crazy.
Shane King had the kids dancing, I think that's been said in a few blogs already.
Steve Summers (performing as Malvoeaux) played some really big filters and tweaked knobs, it sounded awesome.
Disco Shawn closed the night like a true hero, enough said.
Thomas Bates provided visuals throughout the evening. It was hi-tech and sci-fi amazingtripness.

Yao just got back from Argentina and got a cool/wierd spot near Alamo Square.
One day he shared this video with us. His friend Sean Selva, who Yao met in Argentina, made the video.

Solos in URB
URB had some good things to say about our new comp.

DJ Enso track on Time.com
Time Magazine was in HK a few weeks back, and they made a nice little video about Parkour artists there. Our friend Govad was featured, and they ended up using an old DJ Enso beat called "Groupie Love" for the intro and throughout the first half.... represent y'all....
Maybe one day solos crew will get to make a new theme song for CNN's "The Situation Room"....

Solos Records Presents Fake Cake Gallery's Last Party Ever
Here is some footage and sound from Fake Cake Gallery's last show on June 13th 2008. Unfortunately the dancefloor was dark so most of this footage is from the lively behind the scenes area (the kitchen). Enjoy.
I've seen many strange things

Only When I Dream
Chicago's Pugslee Atomz is a dope mc and an all around good person. We met him while on tour in Chicago. He was nice enough to play some of our music on his radio show. Since then we have all been playing more shows and making more music.
With that said, here's another preview of our new compilation "Solos In Stereo II". It's a song produced by Roche featuring Pugslee and his homie Wes Restless.
Only When I Dream-Roche ft Pugslee Atomz and Wes Restless
Blog Love....

One Mo Gin'
Jonesy is a rapper/singer/musician of sorts. When we first heard his stuff, we liked it. Some songs kinda sounded like Charisma meets the Biz at recess and some didn't....at all, but in a good way.
Jonesy and Bookworms made some songs together. The first to drop is "One Mo Gin'" on our next release "Solos In Stereo II" available this July.
You can hear a version of "One Mo Gin'" on Jonesy's myspace.

CB Radio Gets More Love
Better Propaganda have also posted "Muevete" along with CB Radio's "Blue Skies". They also somehow got a picture of the (soon to be released) "Solos In Stereo II" coverart. It looks something like this....

CB Radio and Yao(Yaosers) @ Fake Cake Studios
The Fake Cake Studios is soon to be closed which makes us really sad, so these Grey Poupon Brothers are putting in extra work there, spending 25 hours a day in there, eating in there, dancing, drinking beers up in there, having cough syrup binges in there, and even CB Radio giving Yao mini music theory lessons on the piano. Such is the legacy that the smoldering ashes of the Fake Cake studios will have as the recking ball smashes into it and construction converting it into a parking lot begins....okay, kididing, that would be too cliché... its really going to be turned into a Chuck E Cheese
So here is some recent footage of them working on some music there:
Tormenta Tropical
We'll be there tonight.
This show will be the last FakeCake Gallery show.
If you are in the SF Bay Area don't sleep on these shows.

This just in...
"EXTRA EXTRA, stickers are like the new condoms, all the guys are wearing them"
I was baffled, then the bird told me he was visiting from Hong Kong where DJ Enso djed the other night (pics), where indeed all the fellas where in fact rocking their stickers, like the back of DJ Enso (which said SOLOS IN STEREO 2- CD RELEASE SUMMER 2008- which is a good look as I know alot of people have been wondering about that) as well as this guy and his girl who look like swing dancers straight from the 30s/40s updated a bit(I'm really feelin that pic btw) rocking the Solos Records sticker. a big rrrrrespect goes out to the swinger man for blessing the arm. seen.
watch out we may start making condoms
solos recommends: Samiyam ~ Portishead ~ C.R.A.C.
first off, check for SamiYam, Rap Beats vol. 1 instrumental CD, he is killing it on the beats here with his own distinct style.
Portishead is back, as reported a couple mos. ago here, and I just finished my second listen and am liking it. They did not fall to the junior josh (a la sophomore slump), so dont be scurred.
and lastly, Blu, one of my fav new emcees has teamed up with Ta' Raach to form C.R.A.C.(pronounced crass, go figure) and there new album the Piece Talks is really really good- its really fun and loose and Ta'Raach comes nice on the beats. It is unlike anything I've heard before.
thats it for now... theres plenty more i can name, but yo i wont put em to use, anyways, i love music my man
